Shiv
Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad slapped an Air India (AI) staff 25 times on 23rd
March because he was not provided a business class seat in all economy class
flight. The MP also allegedly used MC, BC (cuss words in Hindi) against
a 62 year old AI staff. After that incident the MP justified his action in
front of camera. Also Gaikwad has demanded apology from the AI staff. MP
Gaikwad’s name was also in limelight in misbehaving with catering staff of
Maharshatra Sadan in 2014.It is
not that only Shiv Sena MPs are indulged in practicing VVIP culture, many politicians
from all parties & many bureaucrats (VVIPs) take illegal advantage
of their posts. Politicians & bureaucrats are actually “sevak” of common
public and their main aim is welfare of every citizen. But they behave like
aristocrats and take illegal & unethical advantages of their posts. There
have been many cases where politicians have taken confirmed berths of normal passengers
by force in trains. Many VVIPs stops flights & trains by force. Roads are
being blocked for VVIP moments. They always jump the line or there are no lines
for VVIPs. General public struggles for a confirmed berth in trains for months but
VVIP has their own quota in trains. How many VVIPs stood in lines for
exchanging or depositing old currency notes after demonetization? The list of
VVIP privileges are endless in lndia. A normal person can be shot if he/she
overtakes cars of VVIPs or their families. Why we
as normal Indian citizens should suffer from VVIP culture. I have same
fundamental rights as an MP or IAS office. Why a minister or an IAS officer
should be allowed Red beacon vehicles. Why traffic should be stopped for
politicians other than PM or President? A life of a common Indian is as much
precious as a VVIP. It is good that new Punjab & UP governments have banned
red beacons over the vehicle of ministers. I would demand the same action by
all the governments. India must change and without this change we can’t become
a developed society. Millions of Indians were amazed to see former British PM
David Cameroon helping the movers & packers staff in shifting his house
hold good after he resigned as PM. Can you imagine a former PM holding boxes
full of his own household goods during his shifting? In India such is gesture
by politicians or Govt. staffs is unheard. A former US president doesn’t get
any privileges like house, allowances, medical care etc. after 5 years of his
end of term. In India, even one time former MLAs get lifetime pension. All
former PMs and Presidents are allowed to have a palatial accommodation even after
their term.It is
good that Air India along with 3 other airlines have banned the Shiv Sena MP
from flying in their airlines. And Delhi police has filed an FIR against him. No
VVIP can slap any person even if the person has committed a mistake. No one can
take law in their own hand. I hope that PM Modi will take appropriate actions
in eradicating the cancer of VVIP culture. The day normal Indian public will
rise, VVIPs culture will vanish. We are responsible for VVIP culture because we
tolerate this. But enough is enough, we will not tolerate this further.
