This is the logical
conclusion of the Doklam Stand Off. Had Chinese attacked Indian troops in
Doklam, India would have responded in kind. It could have escalated the matter.
I don’t think a few KM of land is more worth than millions of lives. Indian
side was very confident from day one as they knew that China can’t attack.
Indian foreign minister had earlier offered mutual withdrawal of troops in July
itself. But China was adamant on Indian withdrawal. Now Chinese media will say
that only India have withdrawn the troop to save the face of their government.
China has a policy of
capturing land by issuing threats to its neighbors. But India has called the
Chinese bluff. I was sick of reading about Chinese daily threat. Almost every
other day, Chinese side were giving final warning of war. They tried everything
other than war to deter India like propaganda videos, fake news, threats etc.
But Indian side maintained it cool and firmness on the issue. Their assumption
was that China will not dare to attack Indian on this issue. India has given a
template to other countries to deal with China. China also must re-calibrate
its strategies towards a resurgent India. Whereas Indian side needs to be fully
prepared to deal with China. India has won this round but China must not be
underestimated and they will strike back at first opportunity.
