Could China beat Russia in a war?

Chinese economy is more than 9 times bigger than that of Russia. Chinese Population is 9 times that of Russia. Chinese Army is almost double (in man power) than that of Russia. Russia is a declining power and China is an emerging one.

But I don't think that China can defeat Russia in a war. Russia has roughly 7000 nuclear weapons and China have 300 weapons. Russians have better tanks, fighter planes, missiles, ICBMs etc. Recently Chinese have signed a contract to buy Super Sukhois (Su-35) from Russia. China still has a lot ground to cover in military technology with respect to Russia. But China is closing the gap fast. And China may overtake Russia as no.2 military power in a few decades.

Russia may not attack and defeat China. But Russia is fully equipped to defend against Chinese aggression. No one can take a country having 7000 nuclear war heads lightly.
